Shelby's Christmas Raffle Winners!

JD - Hi everyone! The humans are back from London and we're back from the kennels so we can FINALLY do a post about Shelby's Christmas raffle!

Max - We're sorry it's a bit late - the draw WAS supposed to be last weekend but had to be put off until the 8th because of the bad weather we've had in the UK.

JD - And then as soon as the draw happened the humans went to London and we went to the kennels - it was all a bit up-in-the-air we're afraid! So we mailed the winners to Mona so that she could get the word out about who the lucky winners are.

Max - But, without further ado, here - at last! - is the photo edition of Shelby's Christmas raffle!

JD - On Thursday morning FH wrote down the names of everyone who had entered together with who had purchased the tickets - she wishes she had printed it out as it took her nearly 2 hours to do this, he he he!

Max - We then chose a box for her to put all the tickets into....

We thought this was a most suitable container to hold the tickets!

Just LOOK at all those tickets!! Thank you so much everyone who purchased a ticket!

JD - As quite a few of the prizes have been supplied by Lily's human Jo we asked Jo if she'd draw the 4 winning tickets and were delighted when she said yes!

Our beautiful and generous GSD pal Lily - isn't she just gorgeous?!

Max - We LOVE Jo - she makes such a fuss of us and gives us treats and cuddles and tells us we're good boys and handsome boys - sigh! She's our most favourite human in the whole wide World!

FH - Um, Max?

Max - Oh, er, yeah - I meant our most favourite AFTER you and MH - ahem.....

JD - Nicely backpawed there Max! Anyway, Jo is great! She doesn't blog so we also figured she'd also be a really 'impawtial' person to carry out the prize draw!

We sit like good boys for Jo and get a yummy treat as a reward!

Max - "Jo, Jo! You love ME the most don't you?! I'm sure you're giving ME the biggest cuddle!"
JD - "Nice try Max, but just look how well I fit into Jo's side and look how tightly she's holding me - I'm OBVIOUSLY her favourite!"

Max - After all the obligatory cuddles and smoochies with Jo we waited patiently whilst she drew out the 4 prizewinners!

JD - We gave the box a huge shake between each draw - and these were the tickets that came out.....

1st place winner - Trixie and Minnie with a ticket that Barbara Bassett had bought - well done!!

2nd place winner - JD and Max with a ticket from Oskar! We were so excited, but FH pointed out to us that it was highly likely that Santa Paws could be bringing us some of the items in the prize packages so we agreed that the 2nd place ticket should be drawn again. But we want to say thank you, THANK YOU to Oskar! He's just the best - so generous to get us a ticket and help Shelby - this is why he's our best-est blogging pal! If you don't know Oskar (then you've probably been living on the moon!) then please do visit him, he has such a fun blog. AND he also runs PBU (Pet Blogs United) with his mom person, which is a great blog-forum to meet pals - you really should check it out. Yup - Oskar is the best and we're so happy to be able to call him our best pal!

2nd place winner - Maggie Mae with a ticket that Mona and The Mommy had bought - woo woo!!

3rd place winner - Scampi with a ticket from JD and Max!!

This is Scampi - isn't he cute!! We purchased some tickets for some of our local pals and were delighted when Jo picked out one of these in the draw! Scampi doesn't have a blog but he has appeared on ours a few times - when he knows what he's going to get for his 3rd place prize we'll post some photos for you all to see!

4th place winner - Miss Mayzie with a ticket from Mona and the Mommy!

Max - Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Shelby's raffle - we had a lot of fun hosting it and we raised lots of green papers for Shelby and that's the main thing.

JD - And well done to all the winners! These are the prizes so please look below and let us know what you'd like.....

Puppy pack - medium stuffie octopus toy and lots of doggie toys and treats!

Pet's Eye View Camera and doggie chew toy!

Puppy pack - with giant stuffie octopus and a great selection of doggie toys and snacks!

***HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY 1ST PLACE WINNER - GREAT CHOICE TRIXIE AND MINNIE AND VERY WELL DESERVED!***

Digital photo frame complete with 1gb memory card
***HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY 2ND PLACE WINNER - GREAT CHOICE MAGGIE MAE!!!***

Max - Winners can check the post below for more details about the prizes if they need to!

JD - We hope you all enjoyed reading our post about the raffle as much as enjoyed doing it!

Max - We need the winners to let us know what they'd like as a prize - please leave a comment below with an e-mail contact.

JD - Before we leave we'd like to remind everyone about Blueberry's Christmas auction which ends in less than 24 hours! Be quick - get your bids in to avoid severe disappointment!

Max - At 12 noon GMT tomorrow the auction ends - we will temporarily disallow all comments and will then post a list of the lucky winning bidders in the afternoon! Good luck everyone!

JD - Thanks again! We're sorry we haven't had a chance to leave comments on your blogs recently - the raffle and the auction have taken up all our time, but rest assured we're still visiting and will start leaving comments again in a few days time - please bear with us!!

Shelby's Christmas Raffle!

Hi everyone! JD and Max here!

"Hello, hello!"

Now, as you're probably all aware Miss Shelby is doing so much better now that her beautiful babies have moved onto the next stage in their lives - click here to read more about their exciting journey!

Beautiful and brave Miss Shelby!

However, Miss Shelby still needs a lot more TLC which sadly for her will mean more visits to the vet, more medication and more treatment - all of which obviously comes with a price tag. We all want Miss Shelby to recover completely - it would be awful for her to have come this far and not make it all the way!

We were very proud to host the auction for Shelby in August and were delighted to be a part of everyone coming together to help raise money for this special girl. So we had an idea about throwing a Christmas raffle for Shelby too! This obviously won't be on the same scale as the auction as we'll only be raffling 4 prizes in total - but we really hope you'll join in as it's going to be LOTS of fun and you could end up with something REALLY GREAT for just a few dollars!!

So, without further ado let us entice you with the prizes. We have....

Pets Eye View Camera and Squeaky Dog Toy!

We love this camera and want one!! FH also decided to 'throw in' a fab squeaky cow doggie toy with this item - we're not sure why but we want the doggie toy too!! Anyhow, here's the blub on this pawsome item - "When you’re sitting at work, we all reckon that the dog has a better life. Until now, there’s been no way to find out if this is actually true, or just the ramblings of stress. Does your canine pal spend the day napping on your armchair, or is he firing up the Xbox and slaying space marines, drinking your beers and calling in rabbit pizzas? OK, so the last bit is probably the stress talking. But don’t you want to know for sure? The Pet’s Eye View Camera is how you find out.

It’s a lightweight digital camera that attaches to your furry friend’s collar, and takes photos at timed intervals of five, ten or fifteen minutes. You’ll be able to see just what they’ve been getting up to, from the mundane (eating, sleeping) to the bizarre (sniffing the cat’s particulars, chasing flies across the kitchen).

The internal memory can store up to 40 snaps, so you’ll have a whole album’s worth of memories to share with your friends. Although you might want to edit out the less hygienic ones for public consumption. Best of all, the shots blow up to 6” by 4”, perfect for framing and putting on the mantelpiece. Or even turning into Christmas cards for your family, just as long as your family love the sight of an upturned bin and a dog’s tongue scooping out the last flecks of custard from the packet.

Compatible with Macs and PCs, the Pet’s Eye View Camera links to your computer with a USB cable for simple downloading, and contains a rechargeable battery for endless photographic larks."

Digital Photo Frame

This would be a cool gift to win for your humans - a 5.6" digital photo frame (sorry for the photo being on its side - it kept on flipping back whenever we tried to rectify it!). There's not much more we can say about this really as everyone knows what a digital photo frame is - he he he! Oh, but it does also come with a 1gb flash card - that'll hold about 600 photos so that'll be MORE than enough images of yourself to thrill your humans with!

Dog Treat Package A

Now THIS is brilliant! Do you remember the pawsome octopus stuffie our good pal Lily the GSD got for JD when he had surgery on his paw? Well, that octopus was tough (it's still in one piece many months on, even after being chewed, buried and enduring many games of tug between the two of us!!) and that was the 'baby' of the family. It's still JD's number one favourite toy! Well, THIS doggie treat package comes with the DADDY octopus - and when we tell you it's big we mean BIG! Take a look at the photo below and you'll see that it's even bigger than us two!

This octopus has a squeaker in every other tentacle, a big squeaker in its head and each tentacle makes a delightful 'scrunchy' noise - trust us, this is a pawsome toy! This treat package ALSO contains a pack of 3 festive balls, a tennis ball on a rope throw toy, a pack of 50 environment friendly bio-degradable poop bags, two yummy lollipop treats and a pack of Pedigree Schmackos! We know ALL you pups out there will be hoping to win this item!

Dog Treat Package B

Now THIS is ALSO brilliant! THIS doggie treat package comes with the MUMMY octopus - and the mummy ain't exactly tiny either, he he he!! Take a look at the photo below and you'll see that this is one cool stuffie!

As with the Daddy octopus the Mummy has a squeaker in every other tentacle, a big squeaker in its head and each tentacle makes a delightful 'scrunchy' noise! This treat package ALSO contains a rope bone, a small squeaky octopus toy, a small yellow hedgehog toy, a pack of 50 environment friendly bio-degradable poop bags, two yummy thin but extra long raw hide chews and a pack of Winalot coat conditioning treats! We know ALL you pups out there will be hoping to win this item too!

Now, we've supplied the frame prize, the pets eye view thingy and the octopus toys but we'd also like to say a HUGE thanks to our good pal Lily the GSD and her human Jo - Jo has a pet store which is pretty cool, but what is REALLY cool is that when Jo found out we were going to be holding this raffle she kindly donated ALL the other items that are included. That is what we call generous!

Beauty and kindness all rolled into one - that's our pal Lily!

So, now you've seen the prizes chances are you'll want to buy loads and loads of tickets! So you'll obviously want to know how to do just that - well, that's easy peasy! Tickets are $2.00 each and there are 2 ways you can purchase a raffle ticket. You can either donate via the PayPal button on the right hand side of this blog page OR you can send a check via Mona and her Mommy. If you want to send a check please e-mail Mona at redriccaATsbcglobalDOTnet and she'll make all the necessary arrangements with you. If you want to pay via PayPal then simply click on the donate button and leave your donation - it couldn't be easier!

For each $2.00 we receive we will allocate one raffle ticket. If you'd like to buy some raffle tickets for some pals please remember to mention this, either in your mail to Mona or by leaving a 'comment for the seller' when paying via PayPal. We've set the ball rolling by purchasing $20.00 worth of tickets, one for each of our following blog pals:-

Sasha and Rupert
Oskar
Tessa
Miss Mayzie and Brother Ranger
Booker Man and Asa
Richie and Ronnii
Christmas, Santa, Minnie, Beckham, Jingle Bell, Happy and Pinky
Cobi
Fatty and Ally
Nottie Scottie

We wanted to buy more but FH told us we had to limit ourselves a little so this list is much shorter than we'd like it to be - humph!

The prize draw will be on 4th December - we're going to ask Lily's humans to pick the winning tickets! The first ticket holder drawn will be able to choose which one of the four prizes they would like, the second ticket holder drawn will be able to choose from the remaining prizes - and so on....

So come on everyone - what are you waiting for - grab yourselves some tickets now!!

Shelby - one very special girl!

Hi everyone! It's JD and Max's FH here (female human for those of you who aren't that familiar with their blog!). It's now one week on since Shelby's Auction event and I wanted to officially 'wrap it up' with a post that gives a big 'thank you' shout out to everyone who made it possible - and that's A LOT of people and pups and kitties!

Myself and my boys first became aware of sweet Shelby when quite a few of our blog pals kept mentioning this really cool pup called Mack, who was running a competition to help raise money for Shelby. We went over to his blog to check it out - for everyone who left a comment on one of his posts he was going to donate one dollar to Shelby. We thought this was a great idea and incredibly generous of Mack and his folks. So we got in touch with Mack's people to ask about Shelby - and they told us all about her. About how Sandra from Kissa-bull had found her abandoned in a parking lot and had rescued her, about how Sarah from Mona and the Mommy Too - who lived next door to Sandra - was helping with looking after Shelby. And about how everyone was worried about Shelby's vet fees as poor Shelby needed so much help.

Shelby, sweet trusting Shelby. As soon as me and the boys saw her smile and heard that she was still able to trust even after all she'd been through, I knew that this was one very, very special girl. And I knew that I wanted to help her in any way I could, which is when we hit on the idea of the auction. We had been inspired by Mack as well as by the amazing GABE event that Miss Twinkie had hosted earlier in the year (and to which we are really looking forward to again next year!) so we really hoped that an auction for Shelby would raise more money than we would have been able to simply donate on our own.

So we spread the word. We hoped that pups would be happy to donate items to the auction and we hoped that pups would also enjoy bidding on items. We'd like to take this opportunity to give a really big thank you to Mack, The Slimmer Pugs, Lola, Khyra, Mayzie, Oskar, Zona, Brodie, HoneyBuzz, Honey, Mona and Miss Molly who all supplied wonderful auction items. It seemed that every day another exciting auction item was being offered, we were blown away! As we were getting closer to the auction lots of pups spread the word - Shelby had touched everyones hearts and everyone wanted to help in whatever way they could!

The actual auction weekend was very exciting - bids seemed to be coming in left, right and centre! The time zone difference made it extra exciting for us - being UK doggies we used to wake up in hte morning to find our in-box full of bids and comments! When we first hit upon the idea of the auction we thought we might raise approximately $250, $300 if we were very fortunate, which is lots more than we could have donated on our own. We could never have imagined how successful it would be and when the auction ended with the final bid and donation total standing at $1,215.00 we were almost speechless!! And donations are still trickling in - we'll hopefully announce the 'overall' total next weekend.

We'd like to thank everyone who placed a bid and congratulate everyone who was lucky enough to place a winning bid! We think that everything has now been paid for (the PayPal account is held within the US) and all addresses have been sent out to the pups who are supplying the items so watch your post boxes for your winning items! (If anyone hasn't heard from us or hasn't paid or is concerned about anything they bid on please do get in touch with us at 'schnauzerandschnauzer@googlemail.com'.)

The whole experience has been amazing and we feel honoured to have been a part of it all. We've made some amazing new friends as a result and we loved every minute of it! It really was a huge success which was all down to YOU, the kind pups and kitties out there in blogland who joined in with 'pawing it forward'. Thank you, thank you, thank you - your kindness is going to really help Shelby and her new puppies! Oh, and if you haven't heard, Frankie had a great idea about 'naming rights' for Shelby's puppies - if you want to name a puppy you can pledge a certain amount - click here and read the comments section to find out more!

Apologies for the delay....

JD - Hi everyone! We're sorry we didn't get to announce the winner of the raffle yesterday - we got a bit bogged down with contacting everyone about the winning bids!

Max - We're still working our way through the list - please bear with us! FH is back at work now but she's trying to contact everyone asap. But if you're at all worried please get in touch directly with us at 'schnauzerandschnauzer@googlemail.com'.

JD - Please also remember the time zone difference - as we're UK doggies we're usually in bed when you US doggies are out and about - and vice-versa!

Max - In the meantime we're pleased to announce the winner of our 'Shelby raffle' - sorry it's a day late! Now, we're very sorry but we have no photos of us drawing the winning name out of a hat - well, it was more of an empty ice cream tub, he he he!

JD - FH took the photos on her i-phone and NONE of them came out! She didn't want to re-do the draw as we'd chosen a name.

Max - Anyhoo - the winner is......Turke the GSD! Congratulations Turke! We will make a $10.00 donation to Shelby's fund on your behalf AND we also have a very small surprise package to send you, could you please e-mail us with your address.

JD - We're very behind with our blogging and visiting you all - when we've sorted out the bids we're going to do a proper post about the auction as it was such an amazing experience for us. We've met some great people and pups and it was incredible being part of a 'power of the paw' event.

Max - So we'd like to post a proper 'thank you' for everyone who helped us - this auction was only possible through the generosity and assistance of many, many other pups and we think we're the luckiest pups in the whole world to know you all!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

Hi Everyone! JD and Max here with a huge, ginormous, humongous THANK YOU to everypup and their human who took part in the auction this weekend to raise funds for sweet Shelby's vet bills!

"Thank you, thank you EVERYONE!!"

The auction ended this morning at 05.00 AM GMT and we've been busy totting up the totals of the final bids, including all the pledged donations that we're aware of. And we are pleased, delighted, thrilled and excited to announce to you all that the total money that has been raised as a result of this fun event is.....

......drumroll please!!!!!......

$1,215.00!!

Wow, wow, WOW!! We are blown away by the generosity of all you pups out there!! We know that sweet Shelby will really benefit from this!

Just look at Shelby's smile - pawsome!

We have listed the winning bids below. To pay for your item (or items!) please click here (or click on the 'donate' button on the right hand side of this page) to pay the amount due!

Could we please ask that you click on the 'add special instructions to seller' and quote the TS number of your item(s) when you pay as this will help us keep track of payments - if we don't know the TS numbers when payments come in we'll struggle when we come to sending the items out!

As the PayPal account is held by one of Shelby's helpers in the US and we're UK based could we please ask that you mail us at -

'schnauzerandschnauzer@googlemail.com'

with the address of where you would like your item(s) shipped to so that we can let the 'seller' know where to send once we have confirmation that payment has come through!

Please note that we will be announcing the winner of the 'Team Shelby Raffle' this evening - we're going to pick a name out of a hat! - so please come back to find out if you're the lucky winning pup!

Thanks again for your bid - it will make such a difference! Click here to see if you're one of the winning bidders! If you are well done, don't forget to get in touch with us!

(PS - Blogger is being a bit of a pain today - it's taken us nearly 2 hours to get the bid list published and we also had to do it as a separate post as Blogger wouldn't let us publish as part of this post! We hope to neaten the table up a bit later, but as FH was starting to 'lose the plot' she hopes it is clear enough as it stands for now, if a bit messy!)
